ARTISTIC PROCESS

In her fabric collages, Susan begins either by printing her digital photographs onto fabric as iron-on transfers, or she takes pieces of fabric that tell their own story with their synergy of abstract shapes and colors.   Her passion for working in fabric emerged three years ago, when she created her beaded hangings for a Tibetan fundraiser.  Her photographs of lily pads compelled her to choose fabrics onto which these images could be ironed, and then embellished with beads and fabric strips.

These became the beginning of a love affair with the medium of fabric, thread, and other materials which combines her passion for photography and paint, with her infatuation with cutting, gluing and sewing new forms.

TEACHER

Susan is passionate about teaching collage and painting, but for the time being is not providing group or private classes unless specially arranged in advance. She looks forward to future scheduled events and collaborations.

Susan not only has led Paint the Soul’s Dance workshops for adults and children at her own studio for 8 years, she had also facilitated workshops with Aviva Gold at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts and at Aviva Gold’s previous retreat center in Ghent, New York. She has taught workshops at Wainwright House in Rye, New York, at yoga studios, teacher trainings, and health expos in Pennsylvania, led business retreats in Pennsylvania and Florida, and works with clients in private sessions.

During her years of both training for and facilitating her creative
healing process, Susan has accessed a large network of therapeutic
sources of healing in the world. There is an enriching website in
particular that promotes personal transformation and healing:
