TESTIMONIALS
Come paint at one of my workshops to spark the creativity that inspires your work. Find the creative essence that you had as a child. Unlock the original artist within. Here are just a few comments by women who have attended my workshops.

Carmen LoBaido has done an all day workshop, several individual sessions, and an adult/ child workshop.
“As a fellow artist who had just completed a degree in art and one year into a new marriage, I was stressed and burned out. Ideas were just not coming. This added more to my stress and frustration. I then heard about Susan and her workshops through one of her wonderful brochures. I took a chance and it was the best thing I could have done. She is so inspiring and so spiritual. You can feel it as you enter her presence and her surroundings. I did a three session private class and the results were fantastic. I was able to open up into a realm of painting that I had never experienced before. It truly was my soul dancing unto the paper. I have not stopped painting since, even with all the daily stress that has not gone away. When I think "Oh what's the use, maybe I should give it up," I think of Susan and her inspiration. At the last [child adult] workshop I attended, I took my stepchildren so they could also have this wonderful experience. I definitely will be back for more. Thanks Susan”

Personal comments by the honored guest, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at her 50th Party Celebration with 14 women.
"Two of us had celebrated our 50th birthdays and we both just painted with this amazing energy. I used more space than I thought I would and didn't feel that I was finished when it was time to clean up. At first I felt like a little child and started with a large brush and large strokes all over the paper. Long before you mentioned using our fingers, I felt like finger painting, but held back until later. After a while, I felt more emotional and started to close up - and found myself switching to the small brush and smaller detail. Once I felt more free again - I started with the large brush again. And by the end, my painting told a very wonderful story about myself and becoming less afraid of what was before me." The most poignant story was from a friend who had given birth last summer. The positive experience of being surrounded by family during the profound moment of giving birth, was revisited in the painting experience at this painting party at Paint the Soul’s Dance Studio.

A young woman in her 20’s at the same party "could not say
enough [about it] She had so much fun – [and remarked] and when you have to produce art for a grade, there is such pressure (I am sure you know this well). She felt so relaxed and had such a good time with this whole thing."

Vanessa Obligado, writer, scientist, artist
"Susan’s studio is an exquisite place for expression. The energy she exudes opens a space for creativity, introspection and for one’s self to emerge.

Jackie Marsh, freelance artist and designer
(has attended several workshops)
"Susan’s workshops have helped me tap into and discover a new and wonderful dimension of myself. They have helped me to expand my personal creativity and to heal and grow in many ways. I strongly recommend them to anyone with an open mind and a sincere willingness to really get to know themselves."

Anne Zetterberg
"I like the focus I get at the workshop. I have had a calmness that has lasted over a month since going. Thanks, Susan for providing so much more than paint and paper."

Sue Ann, landscape designer:
“I was surprised at what was coming out of the brush—both that it was there at all or that I recognized what it was. The conversation with the painting was joyous… Also, the painting clarified what was happening in my life… I have a style of painting that keeps expressing itself. That doesn’t upset me, in fact, it is another pleasant surprise.”

Karen Dilcher, Personal Chef, and Horticultural Therapist:
“I thank you for providing a safe place of sanctuary and healing…I was very happy to have even put paint to paper…I think it will be a fascinating study for me to keep this painting as a baseline and to begin another one. Some of us are more shy and repressed and need the initial journey to open up the permission to make another attempt.”

Nora, Graphic Designer, PEOPLE MAGAZINE:
“I have worked with Susie four times now. I was very happy that she was here. She is patient and very, very aware. She hit the nail on the head when I asked for help and I watched her work with others with the same success. I feel her spiritual side more than ever.”

Elementary school art teacher, after a September 16th, 2001 workshop:
“This was a time for dropping all formal art training…and be free with inner thoughts and creativity…Susan gave me the permission to step out of my present self into this new place where I could be liberated and let my emotions come out on paper…The idea of letting my painting develop from what I saw in my splashes and strokes of paint seemed unrealistic. But as my sorrow and rage from the prior days events poured out onto the paper…with my painted images...I was cleansing my mind and soul of the pain that I was experiencing.…After the workshop I felt such a feeling of elation.”

Denise, antiques dealer and watercolorist:
“What I liked best about this workshop was FREEDOM to paint whatever comes to mind. A non-judgmental atmosphere…I learned that I’m really okay.”

Deb Belaus, a mother, yoga teacher and massage therapist about her daughter’s experience in my children’s class:
“Just to let you know Allison loved your class. She wants to be an artist now. How’s that for inspiration. Your work is the kind of stuff kids do not get enough of. Especially now, they are under so much pressure to do everything right. I suppose that is also true for adults. So thank you for providing this class and your wisdom.”

Kathleen, English professor:
“The workshop feels safe in every way…I was surprised that I can put paint to paper even when I don’t know what I’m making.”

I invite you to join me in discovering the freedom to create as these women have, and continue to. Please call me about holding a workshop for a business group, a family event or as a one or two-day retreat. These workshops have flexible formats to serve many different needs.

Thank You.
