The tempera painting workshop is a one or more daylong retreat that allows you to explore thick and bright water based paints, various sizes of paint brushes, sponges and rags.  You will paint on 18 x 24 in. or 24 x 36 in. 80 lb drawing paper, beginning from a place of exploration of brushstrokes, color mixing, large and small shapes. 

You may also come to the workshop with an image in mind, a dream or a desire to visualize an idea. Though this is a starting point, it is encouraged that that focus does not hold you there.  You begin with one of the two sizes of paper, and by the end of the day, may have several pieces of paper taped together, so that whatever you “needed to say” has room to be seen.
